Welcome to 2ndWind, the Bay Area's newest ‘Fitness Lifestyle’ organization

2ndWind is dedicated to supporting runners of all levels in the Bay Area.   Whether you are running for the first time, have marathon experience or ambitions, 2ndWind will customize a training program according to your individual fitness level and personal goals.  Our philosophy is to, “Train Smarter, Not Harder.”  It is our joy to pass on to you the motivation and knowledge you need to get started, succeed and keep going.

Have you ever wanted to be part of a special team? 2ndWind Athletics is looking for new recruits for its 2007 race team to serve as ambassadors for our community. We are striving to create a very diverse team of runners with a wide range of running abilities and enthusiasm for 2ndWind’s club mission. We’re proud to announce a new community initiative at 2ndWind.   We have partnered with Fleet Feet Pleasanton, Forward Motion Sports, and Velocity Sports Performance in committing to helping less fortunate people have access to proper footwear.

how many calories they burn per mile running, but did you know that: 
  • Banging your head against a wall burns about 150 calories an hour. 
  • By licking 10 postage stamps you will consume 1 calorie.
  • Kissing burns about 6-7 calories per minute.
  • Eating celery burns more calories than you'll consume.
  • Sleeping burns more calories than watching TV.
